    1953 SAALFIELD ORIGINAL BOXED SET "DOLLY SEWING BOX
    " DOUBLE CONTENTS IN BOX
    This is JUST ONE OF MANY BOXED SETS OF PAPER DOLLS FOUND IN MY late sister's collections.
    This is SAALFIELD'S "DOLLY SEWING BOX" that was designed by Ben Greenberg.   The 'sewing' part of this set consisted of lacing the yarn around each of the items to make in the box.  Most of the pieces have already been laced but one of the beds is still left unlaced.  What is GREAT is there are actually 2 FULL SETS in the box.  To give a bit of size perspective, the doll in the set is 10 1/2 inches tall.  She has a twin sister in this box and each dolly does have her own Kitten and each have a bed too.  This set dates to 1953.   The original box lid does have some wear, especially at the corners of the lid where the color paper of the lid is missing.  There is one split corner on the lid.
