    Description

HF1-KHE 500 watt High Frequency upgrade kit
    Package includes:
1 - SL15V2C 1.8Khz 2 way passive crossover with HF EQ and Variable HF protection
1 - Celestion CDX1-1746 1" screw on high frequency compression driver
This crossover was custom designed for use with this compression driver and a high efficiency woofer of your choice.  This combo is best when used with a woofer that has approximately 97-100dB 1W/1M efficiency in the 1.5Khz range to best match with the driver.  System power handling is up to 500 Watts RMS depending on the woofer you choose
    Crossover is pre-wired with heavy
    gauge
wire and uses top quality air core inductors, 250V mylar capacitors and high power resistors.  These features provides maximum long term power handling and premium sound quality.
    EQ/Attenuation

There is approx 10dB attenuation on the HF driver with a gradual 3dB boost rising to 20Khz.  This boost compensates for the natural roll-off of the HF driver.  Note the
    upward sloping HF curve (
    red
) on the crossover chart.  This offsets the downward curve on the HF driver chart
    HF PROTECTION

The “fuse” on the board is actually a light bulb that will light up to consume some current when pushing your system hard.
This effectively acts as a soft knee compressor and offers up to around 3dB of attenuation when fully lit which is = to half power.
In layman’s terms, variable and effective tweeter protection that you will never know is happening.
There is a resistor wired in parallel to the bulb which makes sure you will never fully go down
