    Description

    The year was 1988 and the National Paper Doll Convention was held in Mansfield, Massachusetts and the theme was "Christmas in July".  I don't know if this was a souvenir or if it was sold by the artist.  I can tell you what I DO know.  This is called "Spirit of Spring" and is the beautiful art by Judy M. Johnson created in 1988. She also did a Marina the Mermaid limited edition the same year.  Please note the outfit that was done in iris petals.  The details and colors are amazing and my photos don't do this justice.   It was in limited edition and this one is number 177 of the 200 printed and signed by the artist.  It is printed in lithograph giving it the look and feel of hand painting. The sheet is done on cardstock.  It is letter page size and just a gorgeous piece to frame!!
    I've bought my huge collection from estate sales and from other collectors on eBay.  I don't know the previous storage history.  My collection is stored in a smoke/pet free area in my home, with a dehumidifier running 24/7.  People did smoke back then, I have a poor sense of smell at my age, and I don't know if that lingers.  I try to list all flaws with the paper dolls that I sell.
