Description
"Betty" is part of a special limited "Off The Wall Series". It's the imaginative and incredible art work of Barbara Barnett and Shirley Stokes, The Jones Sisters. This entire set is handmade, hand painted and is #16 of 40 created. Usually a small envelope of accessories was included to add to each costume. The sets that I have measure about 8.5" x 5.75. The costumes are created from wallpaper and then original artwork is added to complete the costume. Some of them are artwork alone. Colors have bled though which shows these are handmade. There is one doll and 13 costumes with accessories for Betty's daily living in the 1940's. What is so special about this set is that the entire folder and costumes are made from 1940's wallpaper!!! But sadly, because of the age of the paper, when I opened the folder for the first time the front and back cover separated. Some of the ink and color has transposed to the inside of the folders. In the photos, I matched the accessories to the outfits and then showed them all together with the envelope. I purchased this set last year from a California collector.I've bought my huge collection from estate sales and from other collectors on eBay. I don't know the previous storage history. My collection is stored in a smoke/pet free area in my home, with a dehumidifier running 24/7. People did smoke back then, I have a poor sense of smell at my age, and I don't know if that lingers. I try to list all flaws with the paper dolls that I sell.
I only ship to the USA. I usually take orders to the post office on Tuesday and Friday mornings by 10AM eastern time.
