    Description

Helen Page's artwork was just stunning with her use of pastels and watercolors for the initial designs of the paper doll sets that she created over her lifetime.  "Mary" is from the Lowe published box set "A Box of 10 Cut-Out Dolls with Dresses", is #1842 and was done in 1945. Later these same dolls were used for the "Romance" and "Costume Dolls" books, also from Lowe. Those books did not contain all 10 dolls and only had half of the costumes that these folders had. The original box set had 10 die-cut folders measuring 9.75 inches by 6.25 inches, each having different dolls and costumes. Then the dolls were also printed on 3 sheets of cardboard and included in the box.  This was Helen Page's first major published accomplishment.  I sold some of these several years ago but what I didn't know about this amazing set is that the dolls were not only done on the paper folder but each doll was done the same size on cardboard too.  Locating the folders AND the dolls has been very difficult and a 2 year search.  The condition of this is excellent for 74 years old.  There may be some spotting on the cardboard doll and there is writing on some of the backs of it.  Please note the baby doll and clothes that come with "Mary". The colors remain very vivid and my photos don't do this justice. Helen Page artwork is highly collectible and always gorgeous!!!
I've bought my huge collection from estate sales and from other collectors on eBay.  I don't know the previous storage history.  My collection is stored in a smoke/pet free area in my home, with a dehumidifier running 24/7.  People did smoke back then, I have a poor sense of smell at my age, and I don't know if that lingers.  I try to list all flaws with the paper dolls that I sell.
I only ship to the USA.
