Description
Carpenter Bee, Wasp, Yellow Jacket TrapConstructed of Exterior grade pressure treated wood.
(These will contain cracks knots, and voids that will not effect functionality)
All sides and edges are sanded to prevent splinters.
Simply hang these traps near areas of infestation with the included screw hook.
Holes on all 4 sides.
For Carpenter Bees
The traps can be used as is,or with a pheromone based attractant (available on eBay).
Hang the trap near existing holes. Plug the existing holes. Bees will investigate the trap holes and get caught.
Once a Carpenter Bee is IN the jar, it will emit pheromones that will attract others.
With no bait or dead bee, it can take days or weeks to catch your first Carpenter Bee.
If you can swat a bee and put one in the jar, you'll have luck much sooner.
For Wasps and Yellow Jackets
Place a tablespoon or 2 of a sugar based soda, and a few drops of dish soap in the jar.
How's it work?
When the insects fly to the hole, they instinctually investigate it.
They will crawl in and down into the main hole going to the jar.
The main jar hole is too small to fly out of and the sides of the jar are too slick to climb.
They are trapped.
Dead insects can be dumped by unscrewing the jar.
As mentioned above, these are made with EXTERIOR GRADE pressure treated wood.
Exterior grade wood is rustic. It has imperfections. Its basically like deck wood.
There is NO NEED to use insecticides with these traps, in fact it may deter the insects.
